SJ-231.  Japanese early Wakisashi (unsigned tang) interesting tsuba.  Not sure if tsuba (hand guard) was designed this way or if someone customized and hammered in the edges on a round tsuba to form the turned up straight edge version.   No saya (scabbard).   The habaki (blade collar) is a nice two piece verision with good basic design.  The fittings include a basic fuchi/kashira and a nice matched pair of menuki with gold details.  Blade is very greyed and dull, you can barely make out the temper line and small edge chipping, overall, a decent blade...........$795.
