U.S. WW2 Army Colonel's Insignias

U.S. WW2 Colonel rank eagle pair. Pin back with snowflake pattern backs, pattern strong on one eagle, however, pattern very light on the other eagle. This is a "War Eagle" style which was an unofficial rank insignia that was worn during periods of war. This was allow until about 1951 when the Colonel insignia was required to have the head of the Eagle facing the branch of peace. If you look closely at this one you will see the eagle's head is facing the arrows, the arrows of war, which lead to the name of "War Eagle" variation. A Right and Left facing set of eagles. WW2 era. Size approx 1 3/8 inches across.
